See how your page is built against the ones beating you
Give me your page and up to three competitors. I read all four and list what they have that you do not, and the reverse, all checkable in view source.
This tool needs JavaScript, because it fetches and analyses a page while you wait. If that is a problem, email owen@webowsdesign.co.uk and I will run it and send the results back.
Free, no account needed. Up to three competitors at once.
What you get
All of it free, on this page
No account and no email address needed. I keep a record of which pages are checked so I can see the tools are working; the privacy policy has the detail.

What a competitor comparison can honestly tell you
Does this show me their rankings or traffic?
No, and it never will without a paid data source behind it. Positions, search volume and traffic estimates come from Semrush, Ahrefs or the Google Ads API, and a free tool printing those figures would be inventing them.
What it does is read the pages and compare how they are built. That is the half you control, and it is usually the half that has been left alone.
Every number here can be checked by viewing the source of the page it came from, which is not true of most traffic estimates.
Which competitor page should I use?
The page that actually competes with yours, not their homepage. If you are comparing a service page, use their service page.
Search for the phrase you want to rank for and take the pages that come up. Those are your real competitors for that query, which is often not the same as your competitors in business.
My page has fewer words. Is that bad?
Not on its own. Word count is not a ranking factor, and a padded page is worse than a short one that answers the question.
It is worth knowing when the gap is large, though. A competitor page with three times the content usually covers questions yours does not, and those questions are the actual gap. The number is a prompt to go and read their page, not a target to hit.
Why is there no speed comparison?
Because one request from a data centre measures their hosting on that second, not how fast the page feels, and it varies more between two runs than between two sites. A figure that noisy would send you after the wrong problem.
How a page feels is measured on real phones. Google's PageSpeed Insights reports the speed Chrome recorded for real visitors over the last month, free, for any address. That is the same data Google grades pages on, so use it for both pages.

Everything else, also free
Free schema generator
Schema Generator
Paste an address. I check the structured data the page already has against Google's rules, point out what is missing and build only what it lacks.
Free title and meta checker
Title & Meta Checker
Titles are cut off by width, not by character count, which is why the 60-character rule fails on anything with capitals in it. This measures the real thing.
Free keyword ideas
Keyword Ideas
Enter a word or two. I ask Google what people really type around it and group the answers by what they want: to compare prices, to find someone local, or an answer.
Free SEO and AEO audit
Full site audit
The big one. Scores a page across technical setup, on-page SEO, content, schema and answer engines, then tells you what to fix first.
