Wix Web Design & SEO FAQs
Everything you need to know about working with WebOws Design.
Design & Development Process
A free consultation where we learn about your business and what you need. From there we send a fixed quote before any work begins.
As much or as little as you like. Most clients provide content and feedback at key milestones; we handle everything else.
Yes. We share design previews before we build, and you'll have a preview link to check the live build before launch.
Two to four weeks for most small business websites, measured from the day we have your content. Larger builds with e-commerce or custom functionality run four to eight weeks. The most common cause of delay is waiting on text and photographs, so we tell you exactly what we need at the start.
We do not count rounds within the agreed direction. Your business name is on the site, so we would rather spend another afternoon getting it right than hand over something you are lukewarm about. Revisions that change the direction entirely after approval are quoted separately.
A deposit to book the work in, your logo and brand files if you have them, any text and photographs you want used, and access to your domain. If you are missing any of it, we will tell you what matters and what can follow later.
You tell us, and we change it. We deliberately design the key pages first and show you early, precisely so that a wrong direction is caught while it is cheap to change rather than after the whole site is built.
Content & Features
We can. Content writing can be added to your project, or you can provide your own and we'll structure and format it for you.
Yes. Wix Bookings and Wix Stores can both be configured properly as part of your build, not just switched on.
Yes, every site includes a working contact form as standard, with a clear success confirmation after submission.
Yes. We build on Wix Studio, so you can change text, swap images and add pages without paying a developer for every edit. Before launch we walk you through the parts you are most likely to want to change.
Yes. We move across the content worth keeping and rewrite or restructure what is not working. If you have blog posts, we bring them over with their URLs intact so existing search rankings and links keep working.
We do not shoot photography ourselves, but we will tell you honestly whether your existing images are good enough, source appropriate stock where that fits, and recommend a local photographer when original images would make a real difference.
Yes, and it usually should. We build CMS-driven pages so each service and each area you cover gets its own page, generated from a single template but with genuinely different content on each one.
Branding Inside A Build
Not necessarily. If your logo works, we design the site to it at no extra cost, and we can build brand guidelines around it if you want them.
Yes. Rebranding can keep what's working and refresh what isn't, rather than throwing everything out.
Vector files for print and signage, transparent versions for overlaying on photographs, square and round crops for social profiles, a favicon for the website, and single-colour versions. Everything is organised by use rather than by file format.
Yes. Full ownership transfers to you, with no licence fees, no renewals and no restrictions on where you use it. Any other designer can pick up the original files later, which is how it should be.
One to two weeks for a logo and core brand assets. Full brand guidelines with applications across stationery, vehicles or packaging take three to four weeks.
No. We no longer sell logo design as a standalone service. Branding is an optional part of a website build, scoped into your fixed quote at the start, because a site and an identity designed together work better than two jobs done months apart.
SEO & Performance
Foundation SEO is included free with every build: clean structure, fast loading, alt text, correct heading structure, proper metadata and a submitted sitemap. Beyond that, WebOws Advanced (from £300) adds hand written schema and breadcrumbs, and WebOws Performance (price on application, headless builds only) adds AEO and GEO structure for answer engines. We optimise images, code and hosting so your site loads quickly on both desktop and mobile, which is a Google ranking factor we take seriously.
Technical fixes can register within a few weeks. Meaningful movement on commercial search terms typically takes three to six months, and competitive markets take longer. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either lucky or not being straight with you.
No, and neither should anyone else. Nobody controls Google's results. What we do guarantee is that the technical foundations are right, the content targets terms people actually search, and you get honest reporting on what is happening.
Yes. This gets repeated as a myth, usually by people selling a competing platform, and it has not been true for years. We have Wix sites ranking on page one for competitive commercial terms. Google ranks pages on content, structure, speed and authority, not on the platform underneath.
Yes, and it is designed mobile-first rather than adapted afterwards. Most local searches happen on a phone, so we set the layout deliberately at each screen size and test on real devices rather than by narrowing a browser window.
Pricing & Payments
Yes. Once agreed, your quote doesn't change unless you ask for extra work outside the original scope, which we'd always quote separately first.
Yes, along with bank transfer. We'll send a clear invoice with payment options at each stage.
Custom websites start at £800, and most small business projects finish between £800 and £2,500. E-commerce and booking builds typically run £2,000 to £5,000. You get a fixed quote before any work starts.
Not for a website build. You pay for the site and you own the site. You will pay Wix directly for hosting, typically £10 to £30 a month, and that stays in your name rather than being marked up through us. Ongoing SEO or support are optional and quoted separately.
Yes. Standard terms are a deposit to book the work in and the balance at launch. Larger projects can be split across stages. If cash flow is the obstacle rather than the price, tell us and we will try to structure it around you.
You pay for the work completed to that point and you keep it. We do not hold finished work hostage or charge cancellation penalties. It happens rarely and it has never yet ended in an argument.
