Accessible web design
Accessibility, built in from the start
Some customers use a keyboard, a screen reader or a magnified display, and a site built only for a mouse turns them away. Contrast, keyboard use and touch targets are part of the design every site starts from, and each site is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA before it goes live. A site that is easy for everyone to use is easier for Google to read too.

The decision
Template or custom build?
Both are legitimate. A template launches in days if you build it yourself; a custom build can be live in as little as two weeks, from £800 outright or £100 a month on a 12-month plan. Which is right depends on how competitive your market is.
Edit it yourself
Your own editor, on a hand-built site
Buy outright and you get an editor for the parts of the site that change: your words, photos and blog posts. It is called Pages CMS. You are invited by email and sign in with your email address, with no other account to set up.
Change it in a form, not in code
Open the page or post, change the words or swap a photo, and press save. The site updates itself in about a minute.
Every version kept
Each save is kept, so any change can be undone. The editor changes your content, and the design stays as I built it.

Wix Rescue
Already have a Wix site that needs fixing?
Designer gone quiet, site broken or never finished? I take a free look, then give you a fixed quote for the job before any work starts. Takeovers, fixes and ongoing care, whoever built it.
How many revisions do I get?+
Unlimited during the design phase. I keep iterating until you are happy with the direction before anything is built out across the site.
Will it work properly on mobile?+
Yes, and it is tested on desktop, tablet and mobile before launch, whichever route you choose.
Do I edit the site myself?+
That is the deciding question. If you want to, a site bought outright comes with a simple editor for your words, photos and blog posts. If you would rather it was done for you, a monthly plan includes up to 1 hour (Standard) or 2 hours (Performance) of small changes a month, done within 2 working days.
Is branding included?+
Designing to your existing brand is always included. Creating or refreshing a logo and identity is scoped into the fixed quote at the start, never added as a surprise later.
Can you take over an existing Wix site?+
Yes. I take ownership and redesign, update or manage it ongoing. If yours was left unfinished by someone else, Wix Rescue is built for exactly that.
Do you build accessible websites?+
On every project. I aim for WCAG 2.1 AA as standard, covering contrast, keyboard operation and screen reader support, tested before launch rather than sold as an extra.
Can you build an online store?+
Yes. A bookings or ecommerce site is from £150 a month on a monthly plan (12-month minimum), or from £1,000 bought outright plus £25 a month hosting. Card fees are paid by you, to the payment provider.
What does "Wix Legend Partner" mean?+
It is the top of the four levels in Wix's own partner programme (Pioneer, Creator, Icon and Legend). Partners reach it by launching client sites on paid Wix plans and holding Wix certifications, so it reflects a track record of delivered work.
Can you build custom functionality?+
Yes. Every site is written in code, so custom forms, logic and integrations can be built into it, quoted with the build. For a genuinely separate application, a client portal, a booking system with unusual rules, custom software, see custom solutions instead.
Why Astro rather than Wix or WordPress?+
Because a site written in code has no page builder or plugins weighing it down and nothing to keep updating, so it loads fast on a phone and has very little to go wrong. Wix and WordPress are both good platforms, and I still work on existing Wix sites. For a new site, I build in Astro.
How do I edit a site I bought outright?+
In Pages CMS, a simple online editor. You are invited by email and sign in with your email address, with no other account to set up, then change your words, photos and blog posts in a form and press save. The site updates itself in about a minute, every earlier version is kept, and I show you how at handover.
